Curriculum & Instruction at Oconto Unified School District

The Oconto Unified School District is dedicated to providing a challenging and relevant curriculum that fosters engaging, high-quality learning experiences for all students. Teachers, administrators, and curriculum facilitators work collaboratively to review and enhance curriculum across all content areas. This process ensures that every student has equitable access to a rigorous academic program, clearly defining what each learner should know, understand, and be able to do.

In support of our district’s mission and vision, our staff embraces a model of ongoing professional learning and collaboration. A foundational, well-aligned curriculum is central to our instructional delivery, guiding our efforts to improve student achievement. Professional collaboration is framed around four essential questions:

1. What do we want students to know, understand, and be able to do in each course or curricular area?
2. How will we assess student learning in each course or curricular area?
3. How will we support all students in achieving success?
4. How will we challenge students who have met the learning goals to extend their knowledge and skills further?

A critical component of our professional practice is regular teacher collaboration and reflection, focused on raising student achievement and preparing all learners to be College and Career Ready. Teachers across grade levels and subject areas meet regularly to align their work with the district’s strategic goals in curriculum, instruction, and assessment.
