Dear Parents and Guardians,

I hope everyone had a relaxing and enjoyable Holiday Season! The first semester is coming to a close mid-month. Which opens up so many possibilities for the students during the 2nd semester.  A new semester much like a New Year always brings the promise of fresh starts, new beginnings, and hopeful resolutions. I encourage you to have a conversation with your child about establishing some New Year’s Resolutions for school. Does your child need to spend more time on homework or reading? Does your child need to look at getting into a leadership role or a student activity? Do they need to make amends with a teacher or classmate from last semester? Helping our students acknowledge areas of growth or places to celebrate can really be empowering.

In school, we are lucky in that we get to start over twice a year. Students and teachers get to begin anew in January and in September. I hope everyone is ready for an engaging second semester and has developed an individual plan of success. We have a great school district and the support from parents and the community make it possible for us to provide an impacting education for all students.

May the 2018 year bring the Oconto Unified School District families and community members an abundance of happiness and success!
